SULPHUR LA – Open carry activists from Texas, Murdoch Pizgatti and Jason Orsek, of Come and Take It Texas, can be seen in pictures posted to their Facebook page on Saturday, casually shopping at a Louisiana Kroger for some fresh apples while legally open carrying their pistols. In what otherwise would be an uneventful shopping trip, it has been creating some buzz on social media.
This trip was more than just an excursion for some fresh fruit, it doubled as a proverbial one finger salute to their outspoken, out of state, gun control opponents, Moms Demand Action. The anti-gun “activists,” led by former Monsanto communications strategist, Shannon Watts, spent most of 2014 launching a multi-million dollar media campaign aimed at private companies such as Target, Starbucks, Chipotle, and Kroger in hopes they would ban guns from their establishments. In most cases, the corporations would fold to pressure and issue a press release stating that “guns are not welcome” in their business, but stopped short of enacting a ban on firearms.

Kroger, however, was the one business who stood strong against the public barrage of anti-gun messaging that the angry moms slung their way.
Keith Dailey a Kroger spokesmen, said the grocery chain had no plans to change existing policy, which is to abide by state and local laws.
“Millions of customers are present in our busy grocery stores every day and we don’t want to put our associates in a position of having to confront a customer who is legally carrying a gun,” Dailey said. “We know that our customers are passionate on both sides of this issue and we trust them to be responsible in our stores.”

In an epic stand for gun rights, one Kroger manager in Ohio even rejected to accept a stack of petitions from the group who attempted to hand deliver them to a local store.
As a gun owner, and fellow open carry activist, I am proud to be a Kroger customer. I am proud to trade with a company who simply wants to provide an above average grocery experience without infringing on peaceful peoples human rights. I am proud to see a company stand firm in their policies without cowering to an anti-gun group who uses the dead bodies of children to push their agenda.
Today, Pizgatti, Orsek and friends experienced freedoms that Moms Demand Action despise. Freedoms that are not afforded to them by their home state of Texas, where they would be considered a criminal for open carrying their modern pistol. The pictures posted to their Facebook page show how ludicrous the ban on open carry in Texas really is. The men were able to walk around the store with their pistols on hip without anyone feeling scared or calling the police.
